Koori Mail

Established in May 1991, the Koori Mail is a fortnightly national newspaper reporting on the issues that matter to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We give Indigenous Australians a voice missing in the mainstream media. The Koori Mail is based in Lismore, northern NSW, wholly owned by five Bundjalung Aboriginal community organisations: Bundjalung Tribal Society at Lismore; Bunjum Co-operative at Cabbage Tree Island; Buyinbin Co-operative at Casino; Kurrachee Cooperative at Coraki; and Nungera Co-operative at Maclean.

 

National Indigenous Times

National Indigenous Times (NIT) strives to be the most comprehensive Indigenous online news site in Australia by offering rigorous reporting on the issues that affect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We celebrate positive stories and achievements, advocate for reconciliation, and offer a balance of stories across news, politics, business, the arts, and sport.

NITV

National Indigenous Television is an Australian free-to-air television channel that broadcasts programming and news stories produced and presented largely by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

 

Victorian Aboriginal News

Proudly Victorian and proudly independent of external editorial influences, Victorian Aboriginal News is committed to covering Victorian Aboriginal matters about which other media outlets either don’t care or are unable to cover.

 

Land Rights News

Land Rights News, first printed in 1976, is Australia’s longest running newspaper. Published by both the Central Land Council and the Northern Land Council. Both editions are available online and are released quarterly, you can subscribe to receive a hard copy on their website.

 

Aboriginal History Journal

Since 1977 the journal Aboriginal History has pioneered interdisciplinary historical studies of Australian Aboriginal people’s and Torres Strait Islander’s interactions with non-Indigenous peoples. It has promoted publication of Indigenous oral traditions, biographies, languages, archival and bibliographic guides, previously unpublished manuscript accounts, critiques of current events, and research and reviews in the fields of anthropology, archaeology, sociology, linguistics, demography, law, geography and cultural, political and economic history. 

 

ABC – Indigenous Portal

The ABC Indigenous portal aggregates Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander stories from around the ABC & around Australia.
