We would like to pay tribute to the Elders and Community members who have worked tirelessly to advance the Aboriginal voice here in Victoria and across Australia.
The theme for 2018 NAIDOC week is Because of Her, We Can. This theme aims to celebrate “the invaluable contributions that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women have made – and continue to make - to our communities, our families, our rich history and to our nation.”
To celebrate NAIDOC week, Deadly Story is honouring some of the amazing women who have worked to make the Victorian Koorie Community strong. Because there are so many incredible women in our Community in Victoria, we have not been able to include all their achievements in this feature article. We will continue to highlight the stories of deadly women in the future.
