Bangerang Cultural Centre

The Bangerang Cultural Centre is the first Aboriginal Cultural ‘keeping place/museum’ setup in Australia to be developed and managed by our community and people. The centre has a collection of items and tools that our people and our neighbouring mob, used around the country. There’s also a collection of life-sized dioramas - a three-dimensional painting with full scale models that provide a glimpse into how our people lived before colonisation.

 

Bangerang Aboriginal Corporation

The Bangerang Aboriginal Corporation is the overarching organisation of the Bangerang people.

 

Black Eagles Basketball Club

The Black Eagles Basketball club is an Aboriginal specific club that is based in Shepparton and is open to Aboriginal children from 5-16 years of age.

Cummeragunja Aboriginal Land Council

Cummergunja Local Aboriginal Land Council is an Aboriginal specific Lands council that operates on the Cummergunja mission. They advocate for the people residing on the Cummergunja reserve.

 

Dumanmu Bangerang Dance Group

Dumanmu Bangerang Dance group is an Aboriginal dance group that is based in Shepparton. They perform at events and can be contacted by calling the number below.

Ganbina

Ganbina is Australia’s most successful Indigenous school to work transition program.  Ganbina empowers young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to achieve their full potential and thus live rewarding, fulfilled and independent lives as adults.

 

Goulburn Valley Aboriginal Education Consultative Group

Local Aboriginal Education Consultative groups are made up of community members who have an interest or commitment to Koorie Education. They bring their knowledge and experience to Koorie education issues across all sectors.

 

Lulla's Children & Family Centre

Providing both long day care and kindergarten programs, Lulla’s is dedicated to giving Aboriginal children access to high-quality education and care. We aim to reinforce cultural identify while building confidence and self-esteem, the perfect foundation for a life of learning.

Rumbalara Aboriginal Co-operative is a community-controlled organisation that offers a range of health and community services to the Greater Shepparton community. We work in partnership with individuals, families and community to support them in achieving an optimal quality and standard of living. Through active partnerships we strengthen the health and culture of our people, our way.

 

Rumbalara Football Netball Club

We are a proud and strong Aboriginal led sporting club located in Shepparton, Victoria. Dedicated to strengthening the community and bringing families together through strong, vibrant leadership.
